I was a loan officer (yes, I admit it) from 2002-2010. When the market crashed in 2008 I stayed in and actually in 2009, one of the worst years ever in modern mortgage history, I managed to still close 163 loans. I had a good thing going and I was consistently closing 13+ loans a month, mostly “+”.
When 2010 came around I had built a side business that was taking off. I noticed a HUGE VOID IN THE MORTGAGE WORLD that needed to be filled. There were hardly any Loan Officers assisting Realtors with their marketing. Real Marketing, not open house crap. Because of this, I started charging agents money to learn how to market their properties more effectively. And the more agents that got results from what I taught them, the more agents came to me for help. It got to the point that I was able to leave my job as a loan officer (I actually got fired, because I had all my focus on helping agents, it was my way out of the mortgage grind. I miss it though, I won’t lie)For the last 2 years and change, I have traveled the country teaching Realtors how to market their business on places like facebook, twitter and linkedin.
